Nine new summons and clearer targeting
Update 17 adds nine summon spells around the world and rebalances some existing summons. NerveLabs describes the goal as a smoother early-to-late progression. That is a design intention, not a published summon tier list or a promise that every spell is equivalent.
Spells and effects now indicate whether they affect the player or a target, and spell sound now follows the SFX volume slider. The announcement does not name the nine spells, give acquisition coordinates or publish their costs, scaling or lifetimes.
What is verified and what needs testing
| Question | Evidence state | Answer |
|---|---|---|
| How many new summons? | Official | Nine |
| Where do they appear? | Official / incomplete | Around the world; no precise locations |
| Which names and spell schools? | Needs testing | No complete named list in this source |
| What changed for old summons? | Official / incomplete | Some rebalanced; no full numerical table |
| Which summon is best? | Unknown | No controlled current-build ranking |
How to compare an observed summon
Record the spell name exactly as the game shows it, the target label, cost, duration and build. Separate a base spell from a crafted variant and note relevant perks before comparing two observations.
A location note should include how the spell was actually acquired and whether the save already contained it before Update 17. Without that distinction, an old inventory entry can be mistaken for one of the nine new additions. This archive does not assign nine speculative names to fill the gap.
Next steps and evidence
This guide summarizes the official announcement, not a completed in-game test. Use the source cards to inspect the developer’s wording and keep your own tested build attached to any conflicting observation.
