Use the southern-beach objective

A direct Steam Community thread quotes the objective as locating the hermit on the southern beach. That is useful directional evidence, but the thread does not provide a coordinate, a complete approach or every earlier Moon in the Man step.

Follow the wording shown in your current journal. Update 7 can add a broad quest area, but a map area does not turn the beach reference into an exact pin.

What the journal report establishes

The reporting player found the hermit already dead. Their non-host partner picked up the hermit's journal, after which the host still saw the instruction to meet the hermit on the southern beach.

Dropping the journal for the host did not advance that player's quest. This supports an attributed co-op progression report only. It does not prove that the host must always take the journal first or that transferring it is a supported repair.

Check the same symptom in co-op

  • Confirm both players are on Update 8 plus Hotfix 10.
  • Compare the Moon in the Man objective shown to the host and non-host before touching the journal.
  • Record which player first picked up the hermit's journal.
  • After the pickup, compare both journal entries and note who holds the item.
  • Do not keep transferring the item as though the thread proved a workaround.

Report the stalled transition precisely

Name the quest, quote the objective still on screen and state whether the host or non-host first collected the journal. Include the current build and whether moving the item between players changed either journal.

Do not use a guessed quest-stage command. The official command record supports camera reset and appearance change only, not quest repair.
