Send Zan to the intended location, save, reload and verify the marker before relying on the assignment for a long route.

If Zan returns elsewhere

• Confirm the game is on Update 16 or later.
• Check the retained map and compass marker.
• Record whether the save predates Update 16 and where Zan had already spawned.
• Report the reproducible state without assuming the recruitment quest is broken.
