Let the live journal define the task

Read the newest Lost Tome objective and preserve the exact wording. A title containing Tome does not establish which object, owner, location or interaction advances the current state.

If the map supplies a broad area, use it to constrain the search. Do not add a coordinate or entrance path that the current evidence cannot support.

Do not conflate the quest with the Unlock spell

Hotfix 5 officially made the Unlock spell craftable. That is a spell-crafting patch fact, not evidence that Lost Tome grants the spell, unlocks magic generally or requires a particular crafted spell.

Keep the two records separate unless the live quest text or a current official source directly connects them.

Check a stalled Lost Tome state

  • Confirm Update 8 plus Hotfix 10 is installed.
  • Record the active objective before collecting, reading or returning anything.
  • Compare the journal immediately after the attempted transition.
  • Note save age and co-op role.
  • Avoid unverified quest-stage or item-spawn commands.

What remains unverified

No quest giver, exact tome, coordinate, complete route, prerequisite, spell reward, alternate outcome or reward table is verified by the registered evidence. Community reports may guide investigation but remain attributed observations.
